Environmental Policy
We recognise that our operations have an effect on the local, regional and global environment. As a consequence the management are committed to continuous improvements in environmental performance and the prevention of pollution. Environmental regulations, laws and codes of practice will be regarded as setting the minimum standards of environmental performance. White Space Productions Ltd will be proactive in ensuring that it's operations meet this minimum standard and will monitor and review annually it's impact on the environment and make improvements.
Eco Policy
We have actioned a two pronged approach to our eco policy :
White Space subscribes to the Coolearth program. The idea behind coolearth is that rainforests are worth much more left standing – for the planet, the native indigenous communities and the wildlife. The approach is simple: to secure land that would otherwise be sold to loggers and ranchers and to price deforestation out of the market. Why are rainforests so important? Rainforest destruction is a massive contributor to climate change. It accounts for as many CO2 emissions as the USA - a staggering six billion tonnes each year.
We have secured 99 year leases on several acres of land in the rainforest and each year we secure a little more. This all in some small way helps keep the carbon where it belongs, locked in the trees.
Since 2005 the directors of White Space have supported a program of tree and hedge planting in the UK.
To date over 4,000 saplings have been planted as a result of this program.
